Join Coldingham Brave Bayers for a supportive 4-week introduction to cold-water dipping, combining guided cold-water immersion, gentle breathwork, movement, wellbeing education and social connection. Working with Shelley Sim, Cold Water Specialist & Cold Water Therapy Practitioner, you'll learn about: 🧠 How your body responds to cold 🌬️ Cold-water breathing & cold-water shock 💧 Safe immersion & recovery 💪 Building confidence at your own pace ❤️ How cold-water dipping may support winter wellbeing 📍 WHERE? Sessions take place in three cold-water tubs in a sheltered outdoor setting beside the Scoutcroft holiday park pods in Coldingham. Heated pods will be available before and/or after sessions for warmth and recovery. Each session includes preparation, guided immersion, recovery and time to connect with others. ✨ NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED ❌ No previous cold-dipping experience required ❌ No sea swimming ❌ No competition ❌ No set time you must stay in the water This is about understanding your own response to cold, building confidence and exploring whether cold-water dipping could become part of your winter wellbeing routine. 👥 INITIAL BOOKING CRITERIA For the first release, places are available to men aged 18+ until 10 October 2026. Please note: the practitioners are women. If the group doesn't fill, remaining places will then open to a mixed group. 🎒 WHAT TO BRING • Swimwear & towel • Warm layers, hat & warm socks • Dry robe/dressing gown, if you have one • Suitable footwear for walking between pods and tubs • Water bottle • Any personal medication you normally require Rash vests and swim shorts can be provided. Contact us if you need support accessing suitable swimwear. 🚿 BEFORE YOUR SESSION Please shower beforehand and avoid deodorant, perfume, body oils or similar products immediately before the session. 🩺 SAFETY FIRST A health screening and consent process will be completed. If you have cardiovascular conditions, blood-pressure problems or other conditions that may affect your response to cold-water immersion, you may be advised to seek medical advice before taking part. 🌬️ Breathwork will be gentle and appropriate for cold-water sessions, with no intense hyperventilation-style techniques. 💙 FREE FOR SCOTTISH BORDERS RESIDENTS Funded by the Scottish Government. 🚗 TRANSPORT SUPPORT If transport is a barrier, email coldinghambravebayers@gmail.com






Cancellation Policy
1. Booking & Payment - All coaching sessions must be booked in advance via our website. - Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your slot. - Group sessions and private coaching are subject to availability and may be limited by coach-to-swimmer ratios. 2. Cancellation & Rescheduling - Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the session will be eligible for a full refund or reschedule. - Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable, except in cases of medical emergency (proof will be required). - If a session is cancelled due to unsafe weather or water conditions, you will be offered to reschedule. 3. Late Arrivals & Non Attendees - Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to allow time for briefing and preparation. - Late arrivals may not be permitted to join the session and will not be refunded. - Non attendees are considered forfeited bookings and are non-refundable. 4. Health & Safety - All participants must complete the booking/intake form and declarations. - You must not attend if under the influence of alcohol, illegal substances, or medication that impairs your ability to swim safely. - A safety briefing will be provided before each session and attendance is mandatory. 5. Equipment & Requirements - Wetsuits, swim caps, and tow floats may be required depending on water temperature and location. - You are responsible for bringing appropriate gear unless otherwise arranged via hire or part of a scheme. 6. Coach’s Discretion - The coach reserves the right to refuse participation if safety concerns arise or if the swimmer does not meet the required standards for the session. 7. Reserved Rights - We reserves the right to change, postpone, or amend course dates and / or in-person practical sessions due to circumstances outside of our control. In the event of course dates or in-person practical sessions being changed, postponed or amended, we will inform you at the earliest possible time to confirm changes, postponement or amendments. You will be offered to move your booking to the next available date. If you are unable to make the next available course date it may be possible to arrange a bespoke course date, but this will incur additional costs and must be agreed in advance. We do not accept any liability for costs incurred by you due to changes, postponement or amendments of all or any part of the booking.
